Waking Up in the Alpine - Sunrises and Sunsets

A Photo Essay by Lukas Mann

Waking up to witness mother nature's beauty, as the first light makes the mountains glow, is one of the most memorable alpine climbing moments. Sunset or sunrise light makes the mountains burst with red light and capturing these moments in images is a passion of Lukas Mann. For some alpine bivy motivations, enjoy this short photo essay.

“This planet is truly a gift - don't ever take it for granted. You will never regret time spent in the wild places of this earth." — Lukas Mann

About Lukas: Lukas' childhood was split between two beautiful islands — Prince Edward Island on the east coast of Canada and Java in Indonesia; two stunning places — but one thing was lacking; there were no mountains!

Lukas grew up reading classic tales of mountaineering and alpine exploits. He yearned for the thrill of the adventure. After moving to BC 12 months ago, he started exploring the coast range and has been to some of the most beautiful, hostile, and rugged environments known to man.
