The FIXE Ring Anchor is our most popular Top Anchor unit. A pair of Ring Anchors make an excellent anchoring system for any type of route. Ring Anchors should be placed on the same horizontal plane, at least 8” apart in good rock. A single Ring Anchor may be used in conjunction with other FIXE anchors. This unit should be placed in pairs or with another Top Anchor unit.
Fixe has been working on improving its anchor range with a highly corrosion resistant material (HCR) in order to increase safety in environments of all kinds, including marine and corrosive atmospheres, during a longer period of time. Our PLX material has been specifically developed to help withstand Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) and minimize Galvanic Corrosion (GC). The material also has improved characteristics compared to common corrosion, mechanical resistance and superficial wear and is far superior to conventional stainless steel products.
Specifications:
"Due to Squamish’s marine climate all fixed protection should be made of stainless steel. The
recommended best practice is that bolts be a minimum of ⅜ inches in diameter and 2½ inches long, made of stainless steel, and designed or certified by the manufacturer with a minimum breaking strength of 22 kN (~5000 lbs). Hangers should also be stainless steel and designed and certified by the manufacturer for climbing with a minimum breaking strength of 22 kN (~5000 lbs)." --Squamish Access Society (SAS), BC Parks Canada
